Pull the screw out with the supplied nail extractor lever, wind the plug in, and snap the handle off at the tread. The plug body is hard plastic with a 4mm tapered thread core and 28mm of insertion length, which is enough to seal a tread puncture. The handles even carry a built-in tread depth gauge, so you can check the tyre while you are down there.

This is a temporary repair. It is designed to get the vehicle moving to a tyre fitting centre, not to replace a permanent plug-and-patch repair.
