The grit most people reach for. The Abracs ABFZ125B080 is a 125 x 22mm zirconium flap disc in 80 grit, supplied in a box of 25 — the medium grade that handles general weld dressing, blending and surface preparation without leaving the deep scratch pattern a 40 grit does.
Zirconium is the abrasive that earns its keep on steel and stainless: it fractures as it wears, continually exposing fresh cutting edges rather than dulling to a polish. Flap construction means the disc conforms to the work and keeps cutting as the outer layers wear away, so it lasts where a fibre disc would have gone.
